Diablo Immortal – Patch Notes – Do we now have a Cow Level? [Updated]

Unofficial Patch Notes – 6th July 2022 Update

PC Client update size: 35MB —— In-game update size: 450MB

UPDATE: Link to official patch notes: https://news.blizzard.com/en-us/diablo-immortal/23826542/diablo-immortal-s-first-post-launch-content-update#Bug

So, Diablo Immortal has been out for over a month, and we now finally have the first major update to the game. Blizzard did announce that there was due to be a patch around the end of the first season of the Battlepass, and players were evicted from the game this morning for this to happen.

Surprisingly, at the time of writing this, no-one has seen any indication that there are actual patch notes for people to read and digest. As people logged into the game after the servers came back up, World chat was scrolling with questions and confused players, desperate to find out what was new and whether they should even bother to continue to grind this game!

It is for this reason, I’m making my own. I’ve been to the Diablo Immortal Discord server, which had little to no information and I’ve been helped by many players within the “Diamond Gates” server and I’ll do my best to list all of these wonderful contributors.

Let’s Get Updated! – Diablo Immortal Patch Notes [6th July 2022] [Unofficial and Likely Misleading!]

Key Features and Gameplay Improvements

  • Added persistent server time clock to bottom-left of the user interface (PC) – Was already there, but previously had to tap the area. This must have been too challenging for some people :/
  • Can now type the letter “k” into chat without being told it’s bad language – lol, k?
  • Performance for players on Windows 7 machines seemed to have improved – Although “Gladys”, who reported this, did suggest it might have been because there weren’t many people logged in yet after the servers reinitialised. I feel bad for those still on Win 7. 😼
  • The initial opening sequence for the Codex has been shortened – That’s right, prepare to jump when the opening book whooshes at you now.
  • PC players who use controllers can enjoy a new “intelligent attack” system – Apparently, this prevents unwanted movement while performing attacks, from what I understand.

Additional Content

  • Elder Rifts now have something called “Demon Spires” which, when destroyed, increase the ER rewards – Not seen this yet! Thanks to “Destra” for this info.
  • The long awaited Cow Level has been introduced – This can be found…. nowhere, it’s all nasty lies from a NASTY LIAR!

Bug Fixes

  • You can now attack properly after using a channelled ability – Wow, it took over a month to fix this game-destroying bug? thanks to “Bomber” for this.
  • Apparently the Escape button now works properly – According to player: “Redknapp”, you can now press escape and it may actually bring up the main menu. Good work Blizzard.

Cosmetic Changes

  • Added developer logos to splash screen – Why advertise yourselves? This isn’t going all that well!

New Bugs!

  • Channelling: As a Wizard, If you hold down movement keys while channelling, your beam gets locked in place – OMFG, you just fixed one bug! Well done, Blizzard, this is some professional sh1t! check out “Microwave’s” evidence! https://imgur.com/a/oLPLz5T
  • Employing custom cursors seem to have been blocked – I use custom cursors so I can see mine during heavy gameplay but no matter how hard I try, the game seems to load original cursors from some hidden depth… not impressed Blizzard.

NOTE: Please let me know of any other additions, fixes or new bugs, et cetera, as I’ll add them here.

Conclusion

It’s a bit early to conclude anything as the full extent of this patch is unclear… as I’ve yet to see any patch notes, but it does seem to be fairly surface-level at the moment. I would apologise for the mocking tone but some of these updates are far from what bored players are eager to see, which is way more content and lessening of restrictions and monetisation for free to play (F2P) players.

I’m personally not seeing 450 megabytes of updates here so I’m going to go play and find some!

I’ve even been on the official Diablo Immortal Discord and not really seen much on there either, apart from what players are submitting. Though there is the following pinned message from PezRadar (Blizzard):

Diablo Immortal – New LGC PvP Cursors for PC! [Updated]

Tired of Losing Your Cursor in the Middle of Battle?

IMPORTANT: Please be aware that since the patch update, on 6th July 2022, the cursors were reset and I don’t seem to be able to replace the newer ones with my own, despite them definitely being in the cursors folder. I am looking into this as it seems the game is taking cursors from somewhere else but I cannot find out where… I’ll update.

I can guarantee that, at some point during your game, you have been immersed in battle against some elite boss or even in the battlegrounds, against other players and have not been able to fight properly as you keep losing sight of your cursor? well, this problem annoyed me so much I went on Google to find an answer and came across the following YouTube video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aD1c3VX29Zo

What Did I Do?

I went straight to cursor.cc and messed about with it myself. I tested the following design and it worked an absolute treat in-game. Yes, sure, it isn’t pretty but it worked!

There were two, this was the attack one. This had slightly bolder red.

Final Versions:

You can use the video above to learn how to easily swap out cursors, BUT I would advise just making a new folder in the cursor folder and just copy/pasting the originals in there, just in case you wish to swap back at any time.

So, I came back out the game and just went back to cursor.cc and tried to make them a little more appealing, without losing the bright colour that was needed. Of course, I added the LGC logo to the normal one. The attack one had to be full on target!

For normal moving etc.
When hovering over enemies, NPC or Player!

If you want to make your own, just head to the cursor.cc page and have a go yourself. It is so easy to use.

Have fun! 😀

MineCraft – The Wild Update is LIVE!

Update from MineCraft 1.18.30 to 1.19.0 is Now Live

Hey. What are you doing? Why are you on Minecraft.net (Or the completely ripped post on loxech.gaming.co.uk) when you could be at sea in a boat with a chest? Or hiding from the warden in the deep dark? Or going to find the frog in the Nether? Let’s do this…

Content sourced from: https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/article/the-wild-update-here

That’s right, The Wild Update is finally here! If you haven’t already, you can download it for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch,  iOS,  Android, and Windows – and Minecraft: Java Edition on Windows,  macOS, and Linux. On Windows, you can even play both editions, because Java & Bedrock for PC is out today! There are even two free character creator items out for Bedrock Edition, so with everything happening today we really don’t have any time to waste.

Once you install the update, your game will now feature two new biomes – the deep dark and mangrove swamps – four new mobs – the warden, the allay, frogs, and tadpoles – and blocks galore, including sculk, mangrove wood, and mud!

If you’ve been following the journey on YouTube, the final piece of the puzzle will finally be in place. Alex and Steve have been sneaking around in the deep dark, the mangrove swamp, and now finally they get to decorate their base with all the resources they picked up along the way. Joining them are some new blocks, new mobs, and a whole lot of wild tales that are waiting to be told.

Now it’s your turn to pick which path will transport you into The Wild Update. Will you start a scientific expedition? Head out on an epic adventure? Go for a thoughtful hike? Maybe you should just follow the first frog or allay that you see. Whatever road you go down, I wish you good luck and safe travel. Now go forth! The Overworld awaits.

Diablo Immortal – “Legacy of the Horadrim” Quest Guide (Updated)

Legacy of the Horadrim: how to Unlock, Use & Upgrade

In Diablo Immortal, “Legacy of the Horadrim” are vessels that offer a great way for players to improve their character exclusively through items found in the game’s world. Unfortunately, some elements in the game are only available by making micro-purchases, sometimes referred to as Pay to Win (P2W), but thankfully this particular system is entirely earned in-game and grants huge benefits to your character.

The core information for this post has been sourced from ggrecon.com

These Horadrim vessels offer buffs to your character’s secondary attributes. Players can find these vessels throughout the world, by defeating the enemies that surround them, and then activate them to utilise them to the fullest potential. Some of the Horadrim vessels only contain singular benefits, but others buff multiple, making them invaluable for tackling some of the toughest, late-game enemies.

Unlocking the “Legacy of the Horadrim” Quest

There are requirements that need to be met before you are able to unlock the Legacy of the Horadrim quest, and start obtaining these valuable vessels.

  • You must have achieved a minimum of character level 49.
  • You must have completed 10 Challenge Rifts.

Once you have completed your tenth challenge rift, you will be awarded the Caldesann’s Compassion vessel (drop) and be granted access to the Legacy of the Horadrim quest. This quest will take you through the means of activating and making use of the vessels, so it is essential to do this quest as soon as possible.

The Quest and How to Use the Horadrim Vessels

Firstly, the “Legacy of the Horadrim” quest will take you to the fountain in the middle of Westmarch. Here you will be met by the spirit of Ibn Fahd. He will lead you to a statue in the north of the city which, after some dialogue, will slide back to reveal a hidden entrance.

Once inside the sanctum, players will be urged to interact with a shrine in the centre of the room. You will insert the first vessel you collected at the end of the tenth Challenge rift, thereby activating it and unlocking it’s true strength (player stats upgrade).

There are a total of nine Horadrim Vessels, and each one can be upgraded, so any stats you initially see are just a baseline for improvement.

List of Horadrim Vessels

Legacy of the Horadrim VesselBase Stat Bonus (per upgrade level)
Caldesann’s Compassion+9 Armour, +9 Armour Protection
Cathan’s Piety+9 Potency, +9 Resistance
Guilt Of The Nameless+18 Resistance
Ibn Fahd’s Tenacity+2 Damage, +20 Life
Jered Cain’s Vision+18 Armour
Nor Tiraj’s Knowledge+40 Life
Nulfur’s Precision+18 Armour Protection
Tal Rasha’s Authority+4 Damage
Zoltun Kulle’s Ingenuity+18 Potency

Upgrading Your Horadrim Vessels

As mentioned prior, the stats of the vessels are just a baseline, and they can be upgraded to get even stronger. To upgrade the Legacy of the Horadrim vessels, you will need Culling Stones. There are three types of stones and each vessel will need a certain amount of one of the types of Culling Stones to upgrade.

To find these culling stones, you will need to explore the Sanctum Depths, inside Ibn Fahd’s Sanctum, until you reach the Aspirant’s Grounds, and then they will be inside some chests there.

Unlocking these chests requires certain amounts of Aspirant’s Keys, but they can be found as drops from the monsters in the Sanctum Depths. They do have a low drop rate so you might need to be a bit persistent, but the rewards far outweigh the effort required. Keys are also available for purchase from a Hilts Vendor at a maximum of 5 per day.

The later chests do require more and more keys to unlock, so you’ll have to grind away if you’re wanting to max out your vessels and be the strongest you can be.

Check Out This Youtuber’s Guide

And That’s It… Almost!

From here on out you will have to go searching for the other Horadrim Vessels, throughout Sanctuary, kill a lot of creatures and keep upgrading your vessels! 🙂

(Update) When you check the altar and click on vessels you haven’t yet found, it will tell you at the bottom, in red writing, which creature needs to be killed, and on what difficulty – usually in Hell 1.

See You There, Immortal!

EVE Online – Using Epic Arcs to Restore Faction Standings

What’s the Problem?

So, if you’re like me and spent a long time doing missions for one faction, like the Gallente Federation, for example, then these missions will likely involve you fighting against NPCs of other factions, such as the Amarr Empire. This results in an increase in reputation for the former and a degredation of the latter… with long-lasting effects on your ability to deal with these factions, or indeed fly through their space, without being shot to shit!

One of my characters, Acesulfame Sorbate, suffers from this problem, as he cannot fly through Amarr systems without being called out for immediate termination. His standings with the Empire are -8.94, but if you add the offset provided by his diplomacy skills, he has an overall effective standing is -5.91. This would not necessarily be a problem, if he didn’t have business in their space.

What is the Solution?

So, I did some research and the only way to help increase his standings, so that he is not shot on sight, and able to utilise level 1 Amarrian mission agents to begin to build on his reputation further, is to undertake one of the time-consuming and long-winded epic storyline arcs. Completion of an Epic Arc gives the reward of immediate increased standings to a faction of your choosing, of between 7 to 8.75%, depending on your “Social” skill level.

The information I am using is from the UNIWIKI, and I’m only covering one of the four main epic storyline arcs (The Blood-Stained Stars); the one Ace has to use to get his reputation with Amarr Empire repaired to above -4.99. This storyline arc does involve travelling into Amarr space for a couple of missions, but is generally safe to do.

Side note: Whilst doing this Epic Arc, I trained the last level of “Diplomacy” to level 5, as it was only four at the time. This reduced my overall standing from Amarr Empire to -5.15, but this was still too low to not be shot on sight! I still needed to do the missions.

The direct link to this information is: https://wiki.eveuniversity.org/The_Blood-Stained_Stars

What Are the Basics?

There are 51 missions to accomplish. Once you complete the final one, you get a boost to the standings of the faction you choose to assist, in mission 49 of 51 “The Missing Piece“.

It may seem daunting, and yes it takes some time to do, but a lot of the missions are either travelling to other agents or just warping into a deadspace area and observing what’s there. For the reward, the slog is well worth it.

The Missions

The following are the missions and their UNIWIKI description pages:

Chapter 1: Quality of Mercy
Beacon Beckons
Agent Inquiry
Of Interest
Retrieving Red
Alerting Alitura
Jet-Canning a Janitor
Chivvying a Chef
Delivering a Doctor
Engineering a Rescue
10 Going Gallente
Chapter 2: Automaton Impediment
11 Studying the Scene
12 Rendering Assistance
13 Lair of the Snakes
14 Data Retrieval
15 Crossing Enemy Lines
Chapter 3: Shadow Puppets
16 Passive Observation
17 House of Records
18 Mercenary Distractions
19 An Economy Under Threat
20 Every Drone Inside
21 A Sense of Dread
Chapter 4: Queens And Drones
22 Royal Jelly
23 Nature Pictures
24 Tracking or Scanning
25a Tracking the Queen (Part 1)
26a Tracking the Queen (Part 2)
27a Tracking the Queen (Part 3)
25b Bag of Blood
26b Planting the Body
27b Chasing a Nightmare
28 Burning Down the Hive
29 It’s Not Over Yet
Chapter 5: Shifting Foundations
30 An Eye on Everything
31 The Uses of Force
32 Goading the Leader
33 Hunting the Lieutenants
34 Valuable Cargo
35 Marked for Death
36 Thwarting the Succession
37 Certificate of Death
Chapter 6: A Breach of Trust
38 A Matter of Decorum
39 New Friends (Amarr Space)
40 Recovery (Amarr Space)

This mission was undoable with Ace, so I had to bring in my main account (who has good standings with Amarr) and I had him warp to Ace as he entered the site. Ace warped back to station and Cmdr Lox took out the bad guys and hacked the can for the item.

41 Of Quiet Nights Long Past (Amarr Space)

This mission was the same. Ace could not stay in the deadspace area long enough to achieve the objective so my main had to warp in on top of him and do it himself (and pick up the item from the container).

42 Revelations
43 A Call to Trial
44 Brothers and Sisters
Chapter 7: Closing In
45 A Stranger’s Face
46 The Sisters and the Spy
47 Sealing the Deal
48 Chasing Shadows
49 The Missing Piece

IMPORTANT: It is in this mission that you choose which faction to side with. Pick carefully as this will be the faction for which you will gain considerable reputation with, once the arc is complete. (The whole point of this exercise!)

50 Our Man Dagan

So this guy is a nightmare to take down. I was in a Sunesis the entire arc, with light missiles and EM drones. Dagan is a shield repper, and you will need to make sure you swap ammo and drones to explosive and still wait forever to finally break him. You could also call out in local for help. I myself went back to help another who was struggling. The reason I didn’t ask myself is because I was concerned whoever showed up may have taken Dagan from the can, thereby messing up my mission!

51 Dal Segno Al Fine

The Final Result

I cannot reiterate how annoying this arc is, in length and of course maybe having to recruit help when in systems which hate you (if you are between -10 and -5, that is), but I finally finished the arc and my reward was a good boost to my Amarr standings.

My reputation with the Amarr Empire went from a base of -8.94 (-5.15 with skills) up to a new level of -7.29 (-3.83). This is a really good spot to be in, because now I can fly around Amarr space without being labelled a criminal. This still means I only have access to level 1 Amarrian agents, but this is fine with me, I can start to build on that with the right missions.

Words of Warning

  1. If your standings are below -5.0, during the arc, and you need help from someone to avoid getting shot by Empire navies, be cautious about asking in local for a volunteer. They may well be okay and help but you would be an enemy in that system and any other player can tackle and fire on you. That would be a bit shit! Maybe consider asking a corp-mate.
  2. When you have bumped up your reputation with the faction you chose, and you decide to continue to work on it using their mission agents, be careful which other standings you are affecting and by how much. You don’t want to have to do it all over again just to regain rep with another faction!

Good Luck out there, Capsuleer, and Fly Safe!

World of Warcraft – I’ve Joined the Dark Side

My new Pandaren Death Knight, Loxidiana

So, it has been so many years since I last played World of Warcraft, and even then, I only ever had Alliance characters. I couldn’t access my old account and recover my old chars, so I started again. Of course, I made an Human Warrior, as Alliance, and went about trying to remember how to play the game!

Little did I know beforehand that the entire game had changed, way beyond my understanding. There were many versions of the game on Battlenet, and I had no idea which one I was supposed to be playing. I just clicked on the main game and went for it.

As my main game at the time was EVE Online, I only logged in about once a week, but noticed I was levelling way faster than I ever remembered. In fact, I’m sure I recall it taking several long days (or more) to get from level 69 to 70 on my old Night Elf Rogue. Yes, another change… if you play the non-classics, it is now designed to be less about the grind, and more about the story, I suppose!

Anyway, I digress. As EVE Online has taken a bit of a back seat for a while, I have started to focus more on WoW and get involved. I joined a wonderful, active guild: The Dungeon Raiders (Alliance) and have been joining their runs and stuffz. Then, as I noticed I was unable to join them on the Horde side, I decided now was the time to jump in and play on the dark side. Now, I have my first Horde character and have joined the sister guild to The Raiders, The Dungeon Seekers (Horde).

The Journey… (Updated as I go!)

Where the heck do I go from here?

When I restarted my WoW campaign, I discovered that the game is way less linear than I remember it too. I am constantly moving from one area to another without even realising I’m doing it. Instead of completing one area and then being directed to the next… and therefore moving steadily through the game, I’ve been moving/teleported all over Azeroth! At least in a guild you can get more help and direction.

Anyway, I’m going to stick with my Horde char for a bit and see whether I can get used to the other side of the world and it’s darkness! I’ll update the gallery above as I level and hear her up.

Come check us out…

EVE Online – “Siege Green” – CCP Reveals the Next Major Update

Revitalizing Capital and Structure Warfare

A new update is now available to test on the Singularity test server bringing sweeping changes that are sure to shake the landscape of capital combat and structure defence.

For starters, the blueprints of industry components used to manufacture battleships, capitals, and supercapitals will be adjusted to lower manufacturing times and costs. Dreadnoughts, in particular, will see their costs become significantly cheaper, giving you more chances to use them in space without as much impact on your wallet.

You can find all the juicy details on the EVE forums so head over and check them out, provide your feedback, and join the conversation!

After you’ve built your brand-new ship, you’re going to want a SKIN for it. Be sure to browse the New Eden Store as a plethora of cosmetics will be returning for battleships and capitals. You can get your hands on SKINs such as Raata Sunset, Ghostbird, Glittering Dream, Lavacore, and more from 14 April.

Further Updates to Structures

In addition to blueprint tweaks, Upwell structures will be receiving significant changes to reinforcement mechanics and timers as follows:

  • All Upwell structures will have their shield damage cap removed. (Armor and hull damage caps remain in place)
  • Medium structures will have their hull reinforcement timer removed.
  • +100% to medium structure shield hitpoints.
  • +25% to large and extra-large structure shield hitpoints.
  • -75% hull hitpoints for medium structures.

These changes are aimed at creating more interesting gameplay around attacking and defending medium structures such as an Athanor or Astrahus. Groups making use of Upwell structures will need to be more strategic in their placement and will be under more pressure to valiantly defend against attackers.

Removing the shield damage cap from all Upwell structures will help quicken the pace towards more meaningful content rather than an uneventful shield bash. Additionally, following on from recent updates to structures, this will help return the role of structure bashing to dreads without locking them in for six siege cycles.

By removing the medium structure hull reinforcement timer, armor reinforcement becomes the only timer. Accordingly, medium armor timers will now obey the following schedule:

  • Highsec: 4.5 days ± 3 hours
  • Lowsec & Nullsec: 2.5 days ± 3 hours
  • Wormholes & Pochven: 1.5 days ± 3 hours
  • War HQ: 24 hours

After this, you will be able to bash both armor and hull in succession. This means that if you want to defend your medium structure then you must do so on the armor timer as there will not be a second chance.

Low power structures will still retain their single armor timer, similar to full power structures. Remember, though, that if left low power for a week then it will enter an abandoned state!

With the structure updates now available to test and more still to come, this is the perfect time to begin scheming and planning your carnage. And with the capital blueprint changes, dreadnought pilots can siege green while being safe in the knowledge that the wheels of industry have their back. So, get out there and bring on the wrecking machine!
