Not Game-Related, But Damn It’s Good!
In 2029 Los Angeles, a detective (Chris Pratt) accused of his wife’s murder has 90 minutes to prove his innocence to an advanced AI judge (Rebecca Ferguson) before being executed. This sci-fi thriller, directed by Timur Bekmambetov, centers on the 97.5% guilt probability he must lower to survive.
Hi all! I’ve just watched this movie and it is one of a handful over the last few years that blew my mind!
In the UK, the Justice Secretary is trying to push for jury trials to be abolished for any non-serious offences and, at the same time implement an AI system which would do a lot of the “background” functions of the court process. So, when I saw a movie about an actual AI court (with Rebecca Ferguson as the awesome AI Judge Maddox) and the implications of how facts are not always what’s required to make complete and fair judgements, it really brought everything into focus.
Every part of this film was amazing: the cast, acting, music (by the amazing Ramin Djawadi), production, graphics, script… all fantastic and a real surprise. I don’t want to ruin anyone’s enjoyment so will not go into any depth of storyline, but I would suggest everyone watch this!
