Changes to the LoxTech Legends Leaderboard – Season 2

Season 2 will run from Saturday, 27th August to 17th September, 2022

General

1) Season length dropped from 28 to 21 days. This is to reflect the shorter life-span of players’ participation in the game, and to keep things moving at a good speed!

2) As stated above: Season 2 will begin on Saturday, 27th August 2022 and run to Saturday, 17th September 2022.

3) From now on, Seasons will run consecutively, with no breaks (as far as is practicable). Season 2 will see players progress scored from the end of the previous season, or from when newer players joined. This does not count for the new Character Level points system, which has yet to be implemented.

Points Systems

1) At the start of each season, all players will receive points for whatever their Shadow Rank is, and is back-scored to Initiate II. This means that people are awarded the same level of points for this category in each concurrent season… no need to work too hard! Also, points awarded for Shadow Ranks Initiate II > Watcher IV have been scaled up. Earlier levels now earn fairly decent points and should promote engagement.

2) The CR gains, and points awarded for such, are also continued with no break between seasons. Season 2 is due to start after a break for re-evaluation, after Season 1, but the CR gain points will be calculated to their level at the end of Season 1.

3) Participating in a Shadow War will now be levelled in points to a Victory in said Shadow War… each will award 250 points.

3) NEW CATEGORY – Character Level. This will require some work to implement efficiently but will see newer players awarded points equal to the sub-paragon level achieved x2. So, if a player joins us at level 43, and then achieves level 44, they will be awarded 44×2=88 points, 44 to 45 woud be 45×2=90 and so on. This is to give lower-ranked players a boost to their score to make it more likely they can compete against the top players. Paragon points will be awarded in the same way for all players, Para 1 is 1 point, Para 2 = 2 points, Para 3 is 3 points and so on.

Prizes & Awarding

1) The End of Season (EoS) will now see the top three ranked players win prizes, and these prizes will be of the same value, rather than a tiered approach. There was some difficulty trying to get gift cards for some companies in the right currency. Because of this, the primary prize will be listed as £15 for each of the top three, and this will be a cash figure, payable to a players PayPal account. Efforts can be made to acquire gifts cards, such as Battlenet, STEAM, Playstation, ROBLOX, etc, but only if it is possible. – the system will remain in place that if a player wins a prize, but they have opted out, or are exempt, then the prize will go to the next player down the ranking that is eligible.

2) Season two will trial weekly awards of £5, for the end of week 1 and week 2 (as week 3 is EoS) for the player in rank 10. This should incentivise those who may believe that reaching the top 3 is “unobtainable”. The first time which a 10th place winner is announced will be on Saturday, 3rd of September, and then again on the 10th.
